Responsibilities
Typically, a web developer is tasked with the following: 1. Creating the website through programming (and not no-code tools) 2. Testing the website before deployment and then at regular intervals 3. Debugging the website code 4. Maintaining the website and supporting the organization/client on website updates 5. Collaborating with designers to understand and execute their vision 6. Connecting the database and maintaining integrations 7. Ensuring responsive design Organizing and displaying design specifications Understanding, developing, and testing web application security features Understanding HTML, CSS, PHP, and others for coding languages Working with visuals Maintaining documentation for software Retaining a current understanding of technology Implementing backup procedures if the site crashes
