1. Altering and repairing clothes: Adjusting hemlines, taking in or letting out seams, and mending tears or holes. 2. Creating custom garments: Designing and making clothes from scratch, often from measurements or patterns. 3. Fitting and adjusting: Ensuring a perfect fit by making alterations and adjustments during fittings. 4. Pattern making: Creating or modifying patterns to achieve desired designs or fits. 5. Cutting and preparing fabric: Cutting out fabric pieces accurately and preparing them for sewing. 6. Sewing and finishing: Using industrial or domestic sewing machines and techniques to construct and finish garments. 7. Embroidery and embellishments: Adding decorative elements like embroidery, buttons, or other trimmings. 8. Maintaining equipment: Keeping sewing machines and tools in good working order. 9. Consulting with clients: Discussing design ideas, fabric choices, and alterations with customers.
