Measure and cut fabric. Sew garments by hand and machine. Alter existing garments to fit customers. Creating and altering garments according to customer specifications. Repair and maintain clothing. Ensuring the shop is kept clean at all times. Keeping shop items safe and not damaged. Managing and accounting for all fashion accessories and shop supplies. Assisting with customer service and consultations as required. Keeping accurate records of all alterations and custom work performed.

Must have the ability to sew very well, both by hand and machine. Must be able to follow directions, and measure accurately. In addition to these skills, you must have a good eye for colour and style. You need to know how to communicate with and satisfy customers. Strong interpersonal skills.

Must have at least a high school education. Basic writing and record-keeping skills.
